  1. Hey Chris, good start. Just quick notes about the backlit. Usually contor jour light is when there is really strong light sitting right behind the object or person. So the edges of the object in front of strong light gets really lost and soft. So I recommend making your light really strong and bright. Then, put a bigger objects or middle ground right in front the light.

  2. Nice, Chris! Love the sculpting of the rock in the direct light thumb. I also really like the abstract shapes in the bioluminescence sketch. Keep it up!

  4. I really like the hidden light source one. I think if you were to have some hard edge vs soft gradation going on it would really make it pop. Also adding some really dark tones into the foreground to make the door stand out even more as the center of interest.
