Demonstrated some simple techniques to start a painting.  Based on traditional methods.  The idea is to "key" the scene into one color range first, then "glaze" the local colors into it later.

Scott's treehouse interior was getting spatially confusing in the background and lacked set decoration.  The center table and shelves look flat.

I simplified the columns but kept complex shapes with more cartoony props and decor.  Enlarged windows for more light in the future.  Improved foreground silhouettes.

Warm color airbrushed over the walls first, then the roof.  New color set to Color Dodge to brighten these areas.

Highlights and shadows added.  Knocked down the dark wood panels on the walls.  Also added lanterns for a pop of accent color

Some progress on this callout drawing.  Discussed how to indicate material differences with line weight, how to show more depth and form, how to bring more personality/character into objects.

Lighting Study

Hi Guys!
I want to do my part in sharing some of my work to possibly inspire your work.  This is from a recent demo I did about how to compose a chase scene, then block in lighting.
